i long for the taste of salvation
underneath these layers of clothing—open up for me

the only way I know how to pray
sincerely is get on my knees and take you in

souls intertwined in this communion, our Holy Eucharist
recite my litanies to the dark and hope we rise forgiven, unbroken

this is the opposite of quenching hunger
the longer I have you, the more I crave

your body is my heaven on earth
your blood running in my veins—make me feel alive
