I am always looking; seeking to discover a lone or forgotten figure that I can trace with my blade and resurrect. I am continually drawn to explore the mysteries of existence, to look beneath the surface of the exterior self and explore what lies in the beautiful, complex interior realm. Once removed from the original text and placed into new scenarios, such as the natural environment or "the wild", the mysterious infinity of the universe or a deep and undefined darkness, the figures I find may begin to evoke something less tangible; to speak through the language of the psyche, of symbols, memories and dreams. For me, creating collage as echoes a kind of metamorphosis, enabling the emergence of a new order of things. I hope that within these images people may find their own meaning, recognise or resonate with something uniquely personal. This is the intangible space I hope to explore without seeking to control or define - the beautiful, abstract space between artwork and viewer.
THE DOORS ARE FEW BUT PRECIOUS
